Wooden Staircase Design; Making The Most of The Colour & Texture
Impactful Oak Staircase Design
An extension of the oak interior design in the space, this staircase we provided for an Essex property works as a powerful centrepiece while adding to the oak timber aesthetic. The client had carefully thought out how they would light the space in which the staircase was going. Strategically placed LED spotlights along with concealed lights under sills and the balustrading highlight the intricate texture of the oak while keeping the property feeling bright and spacious.
Light, Colour & Texture; Things to Think About
To make the most of the strategic lighting, the client has also opted for glass panelled balustrading. The glass panel lets the light flow through the space and minimises shadowed areas, often a problem with stair design. With stop chamfered newels and panelled balustrades you could be forgiven for thinking this design sounds a bit simple, instead it has an overall grand appearance. The grandeur of this staircase comes from the use of twin feature steps and a statement T-shaped design. The end steps are a bull nose feature step on top of a larger D-End feature step. These steps give the staircase a larger profile and greater visual impact.
