Description
1335mm long volute newel post used to support a volute.
A volute is an ornamental handrail end element, often used for bullnose or curtail steps. They curve inward in a spiral that turns away from the opening. It will be fitted on a volute newel post and supported with four or five balusters.
Available in a choice of timbers, to match your staircase, that have been kiln dried and then brushed or hand-sanded to a fine finish so they are ready to be painted, stained, or varnished with appropriate products. The Twist style is traditional and highly ornamental, meaning they work well on their own as well as mixed and matched with complementing plainer styles.
The interesting turned details of the twist design give these balusters a striking look in whichever timber they are produced in.
Shown here in Hemlock.
