This straight flight of stairs demonstrates exceptionally well what can be achieved when space is at a premium. The southern yellow pine design has been treated to achieve a deep, rich and colourful finish that pairs very well with the Georgian style spindles and newels. At the foot of the stairs is a bespoke angled feature step that keeps the overall footprint of the stairs small and efficient. Above this flight we also provided a first floor to attic paddle staircase than can be viewed in the next case study.

My project was to replace 2 existing staircases serving first floor and attic in our stone terrace cottage. Google and you find so many potential suppliers but I knew I needed some careful design to overcome some potential problems.
Contact with Pear Stairs convinced me they understood the issues and designer Dave was able to offer solutions.
When I received the stairs the workmanship and finish was really good so I was able to stain with minimal preparation. The stairs fitted really well and I was happy that there was no skimping on finishing trim in the package from Pear Stairs.
A quick note about staining. I tried all sorts with disappointing results - until I came across Osmo wood wax which gave consistent colouring whilst still highlighting the grain of the Southern Yellow Pine of the stairs; easy to apply too.
